ExpoApa 2026 brings nearly 90 exhibitors from 13 countries to Bucharest. Drought and pressure on water resources at the heart of this year's edition
The 26th edition of ExpoApa takes place from 8 to 10 September at ROMEXPO
From 8 to 10 September 2026, the ROMEXPO Exhibition Centre in Bucharest will host, in Pavilion B2, the 26th edition of ExpoApa, the international trade exhibition dedicated to the water supply and wastewater sector, organised by the Romanian Water Association (ARA).
This year's edition brings together 86 exhibitors from Romania, Germany, Denmark, Türkiye, Italy, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldova, Portugal and Austria, and is expected to attract more than 4,000 participants from across the region, including representatives of water operators, public authorities, technology manufacturers and integrators, academia and professional organisations in the sector.
ExpoApa 2026 takes place at a time when pressure on water resources is becoming increasingly visible. Episodes of drought and high temperatures are once again highlighting the need to use available resources more efficiently and to strengthen the capacity of water infrastructure to respond to rapidly changing climate conditions.
Reducing water losses from networks, digitalisation and real-time monitoring, infrastructure security, continued investment and preparing the sector for the post-2027 period are among the topics to be addressed during the three-day event.
ExpoApa has reached its 26th edition, and if we look back, we can see how much the sector's challenges have changed over this period. Years ago, we spoke about efficiency, infrastructure modernisation and the protection of water resources mainly from the perspective of preparing for the future. Today, that future is already here. The phenomena we anticipated have accelerated, and we have less and less time to act. Pressure on water resources is increasing, while investments in reducing losses, technology and infrastructure adaptation are no longer merely part of a long-term strategy. They are measures we need now. From 8 to 10 September, we are bringing together operators, authorities, technology providers and sector specialists to discuss technical solutions, funding sources and the experience gained from projects already implemented. We need to turn this expertise into solutions that can be applied faster and on a larger scale , says Ilie Vlaicu, President of the Romanian Water Association.
